On God's Law

7/17/08

On the one side, Yes, the Law is given to us as a school master (Galatians 3.24) that we might be justified by faith, in recognition of our perilous condition before God. On the other side, Yes, I am sanctified by following the Law (Old Testament), since it is (2 Timothy 3:16) "profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” Because I love Jesus, I follow His commands (John 14.21). Because I follow His commands (for all of life) I search diligently to see what He says about His ways of economic growth for governing the earth. Ex: John Crysostom (early church father) said, If under the law it were dangerous to neglect tithes, consider how great a danger there is now.” In other words, if I should tithe under the law, I am even MORE responsible to please God NOW that I have the Spirit of God living inside of me. But, especially for this topic at hand, tithing was not only for calling men to love God more than money… it was a system of government where tithes would provide welfare to the poor (Deuteronomy 14.28-19), instead of the State (humanism) creating a welfare program. To see Paul impelement God’s law on welfare and finance, see 1Timothy 5. Loving God with all our being means I will agree with God that His ways are perfect (Psalm 19.7), converting the soul. Not only are His ways perfect converting the soul, but perfect for establishing our practices for every area of life (Deuteronomy 4.6-8). By aligning ourselves with God’s Word, we put ourselves in a position to reap (Galatians 6.9) the blessings of God (Deuteronomy 8.18). With the blessing of God, and the call to all men to submit to God’s authority (Matthew 28.18-20), we become salt in the earth (Matthew 5.13-18). Amen, God’s laws do still apply… rightly interpreted (contextually, historically, grammatically… p.s. this takes a lot of work!). It won’t give us justification, but you won’t be sanctified by disregarding it… nor will we be the salt we are called to be… we will be saltless… and we could all say, “Amen, Lord, we repent…”
To the King, and the Kingdom!

Why is history so important?

7/15/08

My Uncle Bill used to say, “It only takes two generations to go from rags to riches to rags again.” History is destined to repeat itself. There are only two kingdoms at war (Luke 11.14-28). It may appear in human history as Russia, America, Iran, Israel, Iraq, Vietnam, etc. But, there are only two ultimate kingdoms at war. They have two distinctly different worldviews. To accept the major premise of one (ex: Humanism), automatically means you reject the foundational premise of the other (ex: Theism). The two are in opposition to each other. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 4.4 that Satan is the ‘god’ of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving. It is the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ that pierces the darkness (2 Corinthians 4.6). Socialism, Communism, and a whole host of other “isms” stem from a humanistic worldview. The atheistic worldview has reeked havoc on the 20th century. When considering the worldview of secular humanism, it is of no small consequence that the atheistic, communistic, Darwinian worldview has produced the most devastating genocide ever known, please see Gary Demar’s documentation here.

Since humanism has no roots, divorcing itself from the past is a virtue… especially when it has such a disgraceful past. Let us NOT forget our past in light of TRUE history… especially as Americans. Let the rewriters of history scoff, but may it be said of us that we set up memorial stones for our children to look at and ask… “What do these stones mean to you?” (Joshua 4.6).

Dr. Dobson on protection in school

6/12/08

Dr. Dobson, O, Dr. Dobson.... Our captain [you] are on the deck and dying. Yes, for many in the evangelical community, Dr. Dobson carries more weight than Jesus! No, they would never say it that way. I love my brother, James Dobson. I disagree with him on those articles where he has sprouted forth fruit from a humanistic perspective. One of his dramatic disembarking errors is the self-esteem teachings, but thusly I save that for another time. The current topic at hand is a recent article concerning this question: What immediate changes would you make in junior and senior high schools to improve the learning environment there?

Had I not read it from a Focus on the Family magazine, I would have thought some pagan principal had written it. His answer to the question at hand is, “Most important, we must make schools safer for students and teachers.” This is his response as a representative of Jesus Christ. The reasoning goes: Government schools are dangerous schools. Dangerous schools should be made safe. Therefore, government schools should be made safe.

Before we jump on the Jimmy bandwagon, let’s ask a few pertinent questions. Where does the Bible tell Christians that they should prop up pagan institutions? Who are Christians to rush in and fight for the building up of a school of humanism? Does the Bible tell us to establish schools which deny the authority of Christ? When the pagans kill each other because they will not submit to God’s authoritative Word, does God want the Christians to rush to their aid? Humanism will always ultimately eat its own (John 10.10). I will offer a different solution: Proclaim the authority of Jesus Christ in every area of life.

Without the authority of the absolute rule of Jesus Christ in every area of life, protection becomes a matter of degree, and chronology. It is only a matter of time until the bully in 1st grade, who is taught that he evolved from a monkey, will grow up into an angry nihilist with a gun planning his tirade. Government schools, by nature, cannot teach something that undermines their agenda (submission to the government… and you thought it was education?). To teach alternative possibilities would be self-defeating.

Most importantly, we are called to proclaim the Kingdom of God, and extend God’s authority in every area of life through evangelism and discipleship. What should we do to save government schools? Evangelize! We should call them to repent and believe in Jesus Christ, who claims authority over their lives (not just Christians) (Matthew 28.18-20). We are not called to make schools in rebellion to God safer.

Let me address the pink elephant in the paper. Christian parents are saying, “But my child is in that school!” I ask you, where does the Bible put the responsibility for teaching and training of children (Deuteronomy 6.6-9)? If a government school is humanistic in its worldview, it can only teach all of its subjects from a humanistic perspective. How can we biblically send our children to the Babylonians for their education? Please reconsider your parental duties, and values. Your children will grow up thinking from a humanistic worldview. Christians respond to life from the humanistic worldview… Dr. Dobson is.

Even if we agreed that the schools should be made safer, where would we draw up our plans to implement? How will we go about making them safer? Dr. Dobson offers, “Armed guards? Maybe. Metal detectors? If necessary. More expulsions? Probably. No-nonsense administrators? Definitely.” And what will we consider offensive enough for expulsion? Nakedness? Armed robbery? Homosexual activity? What will be our standard for what is good and bad behavior? The homosexual moms certainly cannot handle your little Johnny telling their child that homosexuality is “sin.” So will we expel Johnny? The point is, there is no reference point for truth in a school which teaches that there is no reference point for truth! Duh! (word depicting a self evident truth).

In summary, God commissioned us to evangelize the lost, and call them to surrender to the authority of Jesus Christ in the way they do schools (in this case). God did NOT commission Christians to prop up pagan institutions, rather, He told us to take dominion for His glory. When people refuse to acknowledge and honor God, they are an abomination to God. By default they will destroy each other. Christians should be salt and light, ready to offer hope in Christ, and a biblical worldview, which does not include humanistic government schools.

Joseph the Golden Goose

4/30/08

The world needs golden geese! This era is ripe with opportunity! The world is in an increasingly dark hour. America has become a bastion of humanism. Humanism is the heartbeat of the socialists. Humanism says, “Man is the measure of all things.” Humanism rejects the law of God, and sets man on the throne. This will always lead murder, theft, etc. Practically speaking, it will always lead to the government stealing through taxation (socialism), and the people murdering through infanticide. The propaganda of tolerance, and the society of political correctness have ingested the poison of Marxism. Marxism is unashamed in its efforts to kill the family, and exalt the state (civil government). With the civil government deciding what is right and wrong, the Marxist Left want to control all children and bring them up under the brainwashing of their statist regime. Ahhhh, the opportunity for those who have submitted to the Law of God has never been so grand!

The worldview of humanism is a worldview of death. It makes men greedy, and murderous while claiming freedom. The children of humanists are greedy and self absorbed. It is true that many who call themselves Christians fit this stereotype. That should concern them. Is your child a consumer? Does your child live for himself? Does your child throw a fit when he does not get what he wants NOW!?!? It could be that he is merely a child, and you are in the process of training his selfishness out of him. However, it could also be that you have trained him to think like a secular humanist! Do you know the difference?

In the midst of humanism’s reign, Christian families have a big bull’s eye upon them. The humanists know that they must get our children into their schools of faith. Their faith is atheism. Their high priest is Charles Darwin. Therefore, the family is a great threat to their survival. They cannot allow informed parents to teach their own children. Biblical parents are a threat to the secular humanist. The biblical parent is armed with truth, which jeopardizes the state’s opportunity to indoctrinate it’s citizens into becoming dependant wards of the state. Unfortunately, this also is something that unthinking Christian parents have gladly given into. The Humanists have not even had to try very hard to indoctrinate whole generations of Christians in the worldview of Marxism. Now, however, they are bold in their attempts to subjugate the masses. The freedoms which families have had in the past are eroding quickly. Have you given your children over to the state to be indoctrinated?

Joseph was a man who was well aquainted with dark times. But no matter how great the effort to snuff out his light, he kept winding up on top! Joseph was a golden goose. God was with him, and God caused everything he did to prosper. God caused Potiphar to need him. God caused Pharaoh to need him. And so the story goes! It was because God was with him that he prospered. He became a golden goose to the world, and they knew they needed to feed him. As long as Joseph was around, they would prosper. The Humanistic mindset always produces consumers. The theistic mindset always creates producers. While the humanists want smaller families, so they can “afford” the “American dream,” they cannot understand why their children grow up to consume everything in their house, and their retirement. While the progeny of humanism consumes them, the progeny of theism produces. The state can throw the preachers of the gospel in jail. They can force public education upon those who would chose to Home Educate. They can steal from the middle class through taxation, to fund their socialism. God’s blessing, however, can neither be stolen, nor bought. Their sowing will reap a harvest of need for the golden geese of society. The need for producers will only increase, and the wisdom of the Christ-honoring worldview will stupefy the foolish. Sheer need will cause the godless to clamor for the children of godly parents. Humanism can force compulsory education, but the children of God will cause them to gnash their teeth, as they expose the vacuum of truth in the classroom. The state can steal the godly family’s inheritance and land, but they cannot stop their children from producing. The Christian worldview alone has God’s blessing. Christian children, raised with a biblical worldview, are producers. The socialists can steal all the wealth of a producer’s family, but he will still produce and grow! The society of political correctness can throw God’s preachers into prisons, but it will be the providential will of God for the gospel to go forth into the prisons. Nothing can thwart the plan of God.

Psalm 149:1: "Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, And His praise in the congregation of the godly ones. 2 Let Israel be glad in his Maker; Let the sons of Zion rejoice in their King. 3 Let them praise His name with dancing; Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre. 4 For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation. 5 Let the godly ones exult in glory; Let them sing for joy on their beds. 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, 7 To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishment on the peoples; 8 To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron; 9 To execute on them the judgment written; This is an honor for all His godly ones. Praise the LORD!"
